Getting Back to Basics — Focused Management Requirements for Federal Funding

Webinar • Thursday, July 23, 2026 • 2:00-3:00 p.m. ET

This webinar will focus on the basic management requirements with which recipients need to comply for federal funding. It will cover the full range of applicable requirements, from the Uniform Guidance to grant-specific requirements that need to be incorporated into the recipient's management framework.

The webinar will provide tips on how to integrate federal requirements with recipients' policies and procedures. In addition, the webinar will discuss conducting standing project status reviews using a standard review sheet, timelines for internal review before submitting required reports, and maintaining decision-making documentation regarding the federal grant. The presentation also will discuss how policies and procedures reflect internal controls.

Understanding basic federal management requirements and how to implement them provides grant recipients the necessary framework for preparing for an audit.

Template examples will be provided.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn how to manage a grant by incorporating federal requirements into recipient management policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Learn how management processes help mitigate risk and meet performance measures.
  • Learn when and how to submit requests for pre-approval of budget changes, and learn which changes need pre-approval.
  • Ensure that documentation supporting management decisions for audit purposes is maintained.
  • Learn about the changes to 2 CFR Part 200 that may affect your internal policies and procedures.
